Northern Jordan Valley loses 40% of farm output; sheep fall from 30,000 to 17,000

Omar Sawafteh of the Northern Jordan Valley agriculture department says the area lost more than 40% of its agricultural production in three years, with cattle down from about 2,000 to 500. Atouf's council says bulldozing for the 'Crimson Thread' road and wall and cut water lines dried out 30,000 dunams of al-Buqai'a plain; eight of 20 Bedouin communities have been fully or partly displaced.
